Duckie is looking for a Youth Worker to drive and develop a 25-week pilot LGBTQ+ and QTIPOC Youth Theatre based at St Paul’s, West Hackney.

Short-term part-time contract
35 weeks from January 2018
0.5WTE – 2.5 days per week
Salary/Fee £13,125
Based in London

This role will involve extensive community outreach and relationship building over an 8-week period before the project commences. This will include identifying and recruiting participants, coordination of the programme of activities including a final showcase event, evaluation and monitoring, leading the Duckie Youth team of two Artistic Directors and a Junior Producer.

The right candidate will have at least three years experience in youth work, with a particular interest in the experiences of LGBTQI groups that may not be accessing arts or cultural projects already, including working class young people and people of colour. The post holder will be the driving force behind this project and will take a strong leadership role to drive the programme through a successful pilot and onto a sustainable future.

Duckie is looking for a recent graduate to join the company for a year on a work-based training placement to be a Junior Producer

Full time February 2018 to January 2019
Salary £19,725
Based in London

The candidate will spend 12 months on a work based training placement that has been designed to support a depth and breadth of experience in the community performance and club scene. Over the course of the placement the candidate will develop a range of production skills ranging from event management, to artist liaison, lighting and sound, to assisting with programming. We are looking for someone to join our team with an excellent can-do attitude, who is prepared to jump in the deep end, learn fast and who will be comfortable working in a range of contexts from pubs and clubs to theatres, church halls and community centres.

To be eligible for a Weston Jerwood Creative Bursary applicants must:

• Have graduated from a first degree (BA or equivalent) within the past two years (i.e. in 2015, 2016 or 2017). No minimum grade required.

• Have received a full maintenance grant during the full period of their course and be able to verify it with the necessary paperwork for each year

• Be a full-time UK resident
