Here are 27 years of flyers, from our earliest hand-drawn efforts, made with glue and scissors and photocopies, to the more posh ones of recent years. All represent Duckie nights out/club nights, interactive theatre and performance events.

12th Birthday Party (2007)
The Tower Ballroom in Blackpool was the venue for our 12th. We took all our favourite performers and mixed them on the bill with old school Northern entertainers like Vince Lorraine And His Wife, Joan. There was a fully operational launderette at the edge of the dancefloor.

10th Birthday Party at The Fridge (2006)
Acts on the night were The Puppini Sisters who always went down a storm with their cover versions of ‘Panic’ and ‘Wuthering Heights’ sung in an Andrews Sisters style. They were fun, glamorous girls and we really liked them. Hazel O’ Connor, who we'd had on at The Tavern a couple of times, headlined with her sexy harpist and his huge harp. Predictably ‘Will You’ almost brought the roof down.

10th Birthday Party at De La Warr Pavillion (2005)
10th Birthday Party at De La Warr Pavillion (2005)
The venue was the De La Warr Pavilion, an impressive Grade 1 listed Art Deco / Modernist building on the sea front. It’d been built in the 1930s but over the years fallen into disrepair. It reopened, fully restored, as an arts centre. We were one of the first things on, which was a bit of an honour. Chris Green was on as Ida Barr, his faded music hall queen doing Missy Elliot songs in the style of Marie Lloyd. An unforgettable act.

We are 10 with Fierce (2005)
We are 10 with Fierce (2005)
This was a collaboration between Duckie and Club Fierce in Birmingham. David was on at his acerbic best and, at the other end of the entertainment spectrum, so was Barbara Nice serving cake. Whatever happened to Barbara? She was great.

The Wife's can’t remember this. Can you?

Panic on the Streets of London (2005)
Panic on the Streets of London (2005)
The Coronet again, and yet another Morrissey night. Justin Bond sang There Is A Light That Never Goes Out with the Readers Wifes pop group.

Gay Shame (2004)
Gay Shame (2004)
Was this our first adventure at The Coronet? It was formerly a cinema at The Elephant & Castle that had turned into a music venue sometime in the 90s. It was on its last legs a bit, so the perfect place for Duckie. Demolished in 2021. Another terrific flier from Bryon.

Duckie Saturdays (August - November 2002)
Duckie Saturdays (August - November 2002)
This was from a shoot up in Hackney. We walked round all these housing estates looking like freaks with gangs of kids following us. Brian David Stephens, whose quite famous, took the shots. We all ended up having tea and cake round Simon Strange’s Mum’s.

5th Birthday Party (2001)
5th Birthday Party (2001)
For the 5th we hired The Eve Club in Piccadilly, where Pulp had filmed the Disco 2000 video and where Matthew Glamorre's Club Smashing was held. The Eve went back to the ‘60s, Christine Keeler and Russian spies and all that. We loved the lit-up dancefloor in there.

Duckie Up West and Down South (2001)
Simon found this brilliant picture of the Seventies kid with chocolate all around his mouth. The Friday nights at The Eve in Regent Street were good fun, but how did we work all week and then run two clubs at the weekend?

Hello Duckie... Five Years of Photos (2001)
Hello Duckie... Five Years of Photos (2001)
What was this high brow cultural event with a private view? The Wifes can't remember.

'Left Leaning Music Hall, Molly House & DSS Playboy Lounge' Saturdays (September - December 2001)
'Left Leaning Music Hall, Molly House & DSS Playboy Lounge' Saturdays (September - December 2001)
We got this strange flier for Saturday nights in 2001 from a book Chelsea Kelsey had of Victorian erotica.

Wow! Duckie Salutes Kate Bush (2001)
Wow! Duckie Salutes Kate Bush (2001)
We were always returning to Kate and Kate nights were always reliably bonkers. What a great flier by Bryon Fear.

The Wifes can't remember anything about this.

Divine David on Ice (2000)
Divine David on Ice (2000)
Who could forget? Streatham Ice Rink. David learnt to skate as did his assistant Jay Cloth. An absolute tour-de-force performance. When the show was over the Wifes played Teenage Kicks and the ice was invaded. People falling about everywhere and a few broken bones.
